Il saggio indaga su contesti urbani consolidati che contengono tracce appartenenti a preesistenze industriali oggi in disuso, ma che costituiscono originali trame urbane da reinterpretare, riqualificare e riutilizzare in alternativa alle nuove espansioni. Il progetto della trasformazione/cambiamento diviene una metodologia d’intervento che richiede approcci, sensibilità e strumenti adeguati, che vanno dal controllo urbanistico a quello architettonico, dalla verifica tecnologica e strutturale a quella sociale e fruitiva.
